Vibration Trainers also known as
'Power Plates', work on the principle of vibrations being transferred to muscles in the body, which cause them to contract in a reflex action. Depending on the selected frequency, a vibration trainer can result in muscles quickly contracting 25 to 50 times per second. Different parts of the body are put in contact with the platform in various exercise positions ranging from squats, lunges and push-ups to abdominal crunches, tricep dips or bicep curls.

A pose is held for between 30 and 60 seconds at a time activating multiple muscle groups simultaneously to stretch, tone and strengthen. Exercises can be performed standing, sitting or lying down and the equivalent of 60 minutes of conventional strenuous exercise can be achieved in just 20 minutes and training sessions need to be performed no more than 3 to 4 times per week.
This is due to exercise causing the body to tire then rest allowing the body to recover. By repeating this process the body adjusts to the level of effort, resulting in an increase in physical fitness.
Vibration Plates are a multi-purpose apparatus, which can be used in many different ways, such as:
- • For strength, agility and power by increasing muscle growth

- • Improve blood flow and treat peripheral circulation disorders
- • In the treatment of muscle decrease and muscle weakness
- • For the treatment of disorders such as MS, osteoporosis, various muscle and nervous disorders
- • For general relaxation and increased flexibility in the neck and shoulders
- • Vibration Trainers help to fight cellulite or fluid retention
